Bij Leila, kookstudio en gastenverblijf in Leenderstrijp
BijLeila cooking studio and guest house

The kitchen

A real cooking studio, built so that twelve people can cook together and sit down at one table. That is what sets Bij Leila apart from any other holiday home.

What you cook is up to you

From a simple pasta night with the whole party to a four-course dinner: for as long as you are staying here, the kitchen is yours.

You will find all the equipment you need to prepare a meal: a combination microwave, an oven and a wide oven big enough to roast half a sheep. And an ice cream maker. Knives, cutlery, pans, pots, spatulas, chopping boards, you name it. There is nothing you will go short of in this kitchen.

Guests who are not staying over are welcome too

There is room for twelve at the table. Six can sleep over: a double bed downstairs, three single beds upstairs and a very comfortable sofa bed in the living room. Family, friends or neighbours are welcome to cook along or simply to eat with you. Staying the night is the one thing that is not on offer. Cooking together and then lingering at the table makes for an evening you share, and talk about long afterwards.

The table is set up for six by default, with the extension leaf folded away. If you are coming to cook and eat with more people, let us know in advance how many you are. We will put out enough chairs and extend the table.

Moroccan, if you feel like it

The tajines are there, and Leila shares her recipes and her tips. For years she gave Moroccan cooking workshops here; what guests wrote about them is on Experiences. She no longer gives those workshops; in her message she explains why. The kitchen and the recipes have stayed.

How it works

Cooking comes with a stay of at least three nights: a day to arrive and explore the surroundings, a day to do the shopping and prepare, and a day to cook and linger at the table.

The prices for the stay itself are on Staying overnight and wellness.
